Learning in the classes

Hello,
today I have something to write about what I have learned here. I learned a lot about American culture, about slavery, about music, about religion and a lot of other issues. These issues have been very interesting, but they are not related to daily life or daily practices at home. The problem was that we got a program in spring with the main topics for this course and the program. Based on this program I made the decision to take part in this course (for two person). There was written:
Exchange Program 2009
Programs of study (with four topics!!)
General American English language and culture course
Specialized instruction in Business
includes visits to major US firms located in Greater Cincinnati as well as instruction in language and culture specific to business
Specialized instruction in Engineering
includes visits to a variety of engineering firms located in Greater Cincinnati as well as language and technical writing
Specialized projects for teaching professionals
This guided research project focuses on second language teaching and learning which can be arranged to meet the interest to the individual.

From these issues we had nothing, but only the first topic.

We also got the program for 2009 with weekly schedule. In this program from the UC were announced every day three or four English lessons and a lot of business trips. Lessons we had in form of discussions, some, but not every day one. This was not what I expected.
Nobody of us got the information that the UC will make a choice, and that we get the information about the reduced contents only here.

The most I have learned and improved is the ability to talk with other people. Therefor was it good, for example,to meet other people in the college, in restaurants, in other departments, at parties and in the dormitory. I thought that to get in contact with other people with the first questionnaire was a good start to communicate, also to read children's books and the trips, but I missed the other business and technical related contents that's why I was here and financed the course also for Marlen. Sorry, but this is my opinion.

About culture I learned a lot, but it would be only for my personal private education. I think not that I would be get in the future the possibility to work or live here.
So that's why it was our last day here.
Bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!
